Yearbook Mockup:

Propose and design 2 pages for next year's yearbook. One will be a template for candid pictures and one will be for class portraits.

  1. Draw a paper and pencil plan of the proposed yearbook pages on 2 pieces of plain paper. Decide landscape or portrait orientation. Your plan should fill each page entirely. The candid picture page should include placeholders for about 10 pictures. The class portrait template should be flexible enough to accommodate 9-16 pictures depending upon the class. Indicate color scheme and placement of any and all objects on the page.
  2. Check in with Miss Dolly before beginning.
  3. Open 2 new documents in Fireworks. Change the measurement from pixels to inches, resolution should be 72 pixels/inch. The dimensions should be 8.5" x 11". Your height/width will depend on which orientation you choose.
  4. Render your plan in Fireworks. Make sure to consider
  5. Go to yearbook_mockups in this folder are 2 folders- grade_1_portraits and kid_pan_alley- you can use the files in these folders to populate your pages. You can resize and crop to make them fit your page. You should fit all of the first graders into the one page and fit about 10 or so on the candids.
  6. Save the completed .png file to your computer folder as yourname_yearbook_mockup
  7. Export your final copy (.gif AND .jpg) to the appropriate folder within dolly_joseph/yearbook_mockups/grade_#

Your ideas will likely contribute to and influence the yearbook committee's layout and design.
